Hello, My name is Nathan Schleiden & I’m the executive director of Chi-Town GVP Summit along with being a senior in high school in the Chicago area.
Chi-Town GVP Summit is a youth-run organization dedicated to helping grassroots youth activists working on the gun violence epidemic. We do this through providing them with training, independent research, resources, feedback on individual projects and on going support. All of those things obviously cost a good bit of money and we will be relying a great deal on donations from individuals like yourself, all donations to us are considered tax deductible as we’re currently fiscally sponsored by Youth Leadership Incubator Inc. if you’d like to donate to us you may do so in one of two ways first you could go to this link; chitowngvpsummit.org/donate or the second option is going to donorbox.org/ctgvps
We also are currently looking for applicants for the 2020 Chi-Town GVP Summit along with chaperones. We will accept as many applicants from each state as apply but in the end only one youth will be attending from each state. If you know of youth that would be interested in applying to attend the summit in 2020 or be a state lead please have them fill out the application at this link; https://forms.gle/RRDb6adRurDxG3H98. The responsibilities of a state lead include organizing regional/state events, recruiting members, working with national leadership on fundraising, engaging with community members & helping make sure community members, leaders & politicians take action on the issue of gun violence prevention.
